ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

This collection is my most recent work. Most of its contents have been inspired by events that have occurred in the last 3 years. My brother gave me the idea of putting together a collection this summer. Most of the pieces presented are realities that I have experienced and must face. “Accumulated Pennys” is the first of several collections of poetry that I plan to put into readable form. I hope that something that someone reads in this collection can inspire or shine light on some facet of her or his life. Poetry has blessed me; I only want to return the favor.

A CONVERSATION WITH KITCHEN COUNTERS

Thanksgiving dinners like you’ve never seen, broken glasses, premiere movie passes, and misscooped ice cream.

8 year-olds comprehend the stepping tool I’ve been blessed with, and some small gifts: a wallet, two guns, a cell phone, and hand lotion for ashy fists.

Crushed ice for blackened bluish ice sockets from arguments, accidents and unanticipated answers.

Bare bread for sandwiches, Which bug is quickest? Roach or Ant? Dried broken green plants, old wet socks with dirt and holes that are damp, and the post office bag filled with 37 cent stamps.

Forest animals in pots, white substances reborn into rocks, matched on colors designed to camouflage unnecessary spots.

I’ve seen more.

A SUMMER’S SOUL WINDED

Composed of danger, and created broken dreams of anger. Strong like GOD in the manger.

Wind moves, words soothe…..or reinvent; never seeing summer’s societal magic threatens the atmosphere’s melanin tint…

The air currents cover earth’s hair in a commotion comparable to mixing contents of a cake; please absorb the noise which truth will make….

And that one cool breeze on a summer’s night only reminds you that temptation alters positive light….

If bent out of shape they’ll get up stand up like the Marleys, and there will be no maybes….

Wrap with time…
 

DESTROYING THE MONSTER

Through vibrated glances, remorseful stalemates until conversation is united.

Destruction entails the pattern of strength…

WE will destroy the monster!

With loud thunder-sized words, phrases, and sentences!

Behold “the monster (one) within you shall be exalted and destroyed.”

A structured, strong finalist understands the steps toward patient embodiment.

Waiting, standing, waiting, walking, towards rebellion, and victory.

Yet, I Stand Here before you empowered by GOD first!

And each letter and energy arranged on this page, and those shall be witnesses.
